Raising the rear axle

Then I jacked up the front end enough to remove the jack stands and then lowered the front end back down onto the tires. That allowed me to jack up one side of the rear axle at a time. As I raised each side of the rear axle, I placed a jack stand under it. Also notice that I chocked the front tire. Since the front driveshaft was still removed, there was nothing to keep the Jeep from rolling away while I was jacking and lifting.
