9.18.2005 - Pismo Beach Dunes
We never really did any serious off-roading until we moved to California in
July of 2004. North Dakota was the first place we lived together after getting
married, and it really didn’t have a whole lot of off-roading opportunities. We'd
used Justine's '95 Wrangler Sahara on dirt
roads in the Colorado Rockies, but
nothing that was even remotely challenging or exciting.
But shortly after moving to California, we found our first chance to go out and
get Justine's Jeep a bit dirty. In August 2004, we attended the first annual
Camp Jeep California. Since it was
only about 30 minutes away from where we lived, we could easily go every day without
worrying about having a place to stay. Well, that was it. Once we went, we were
both hooked on Jeepin'! It was a really great opportunity for Justine - she really
learned a lot about her Jeep, how it performed on the trail and what it would take
to make it even more capable.
At Camp Jeep, we met a few other local Jeep owners, and shortly after we joined
a local Jeep club. Since then, we've been out with them several times. I was
getting tired of not having a toy of my own, so in March of 2005 I bought my
'00 Cherokee Limited. Now, when can both
enjoy driving the trails with our Jeep friends! We’re now an all-out Jeep family!
(The girls love going Jeepin'!)
